Friends, I wanted to let you know about a new anthology that features some of my work. I’m honored to be included.
An Outcast Age is available now from the good people at Little Gidding Press. Please show them your support and pick up a copy.
“This [book includes] fine poems from writers previously unknown to me—such as Malcolm Guite, whose sonnets are worthy of R.S. Thomas, and Joseph Massey, whose extraordinary ‘Altar & Offering’ reminds me at once of T.S. Eliot, James Galvin, & Robert Penn Warren.”
—Ryan Wilson
“For these poets, the ageless and invisible presence of the Holy Spirit pervades the created world like air and breath, and Massey could be singing the book’s powerful refrain when he proclaims, “The air alone/both altar and offering.”
—Andrew Hudgins
A selection of my work was translated into Bengali by Bengalese poet Swarnendu Sengupta and published in India by Bhasalipi, a fine press. I love the cover even if it does make me look like a member of the Grateful Dead or, even worse, Phish.
Today’s my 44th birthday and I intend to celebrate alone with poetry and tea. I like to keep things quiet on my birthday — but what am I talking about? I keep things quiet every other day of the year, too.
Fire under the ash
