This is wonderful. For contrast, the local state university posted a 30 minute podcast with two poets on faculty. First they talked about themselves. After about 20 minutes, they got around to reading their poetry. One poem each. Speaker 1 talked about what his poem meant. Then he read the poem, or I think he did? It sounded like rambling conversation. Then he talked some more about the poem. Speaker 2 carefully explained that each of her poems started with a children’s verse and we would know when HER poem started when the lines stopped rhyming. She read the poem. When Speaker 1 fell all over himself saying how meaningful the poem was (it wasn’t). I hit pause. Such is academic creative writing.
