I had a mild panic when I got a notification that just said "Goodbye." I was relieved it was just an excellent poem and you weren't leaving Substack.

This is lovely and haunting all at once. I'm in the midst of moving so exile and and goodbyes are top of mind. I was halted by: "In exile, the gaps become companions—"

New subscriber ... perfect start. An appreciation of the ordinary. I was sitting in my suburban backyard the other day, sweating. But so much going on ... birds in the feeders, beautiful Constable clouds, Rosie chasing a squirrel. Ordinary. Wonderful.
